[from Skt. mamaka.] n. A father-in-law. Also, a mother’s brother, menamama. The same title is bestowed equally on the brothers of a father-in-law, aspinamamagaru, peddamamagaru. The phrase sakunimama denotes ‘Uncle Sakuni,’ i.e., an evil counsellor. Sakuni was the maternal uncle of Duryodhana. mamamama an epithet of Vishnu, as he married Lakshmi the daughter of the Sea (samudrudu) whose wife (Ganges) is related to him as a daughter, laksmidevini pendladinanduna tanaku mamayaina samudruniki pendlamagu gangadevi tanaku kuturuvarusa agutaceta visnuvu samudruniki mama ayyenu.
