The letter D, sounded as a palatal. D sometimes changes into na Na, thus: adagu, anagu; padati, panati. In a few words the hard and soft D are used as pleasure: as dagu or dagu. Vide Appa C. bk. ii. rule 168. In the colloquial dialect nda may become anna, thus: dandamu and adangulu are written dannamu or dannamu and anangulu.
