Thus atuvanti, aghavanti as, in English, intention is pronounced intenshun. This letter ta is sometimes inserted to prevent elision. uppu+eru (uppu-eru) becomes upputeru (uppu-te-ru.) a salt river. penku+illu, pendutillu. This may happen even where the first word is Sanskrit, thus: madaputenugu.
